LOCAL job seekers are being urged to join a free virtual event to help them into work.

Incommunities’ Employment Hub team first ever online open day will put advisors in touch with people hit by the lockdowns and eager to get back into work. The event takes place on Wednesday, December 9, 10.30am – 3.30pm.

Their team of advisors will be on hand to offer one-to-one support to get ‘job ready’ for local vacancies including writing effective CVs, giving interview tips and searching local job sites.

The team will also be able to give advice on developing the right skills and qualifications to get back into work including joining the ‘hubs’ free online maths and English courses.

Nicki Woods, Incommunities’ Contract Manager for the new Employment Hub said: “The lockdowns have hit many people’s livelihoods and my team are keen to help job seekers across the district have a positive new year!

“This virtual open day also aims to breakdown any barriers people may face in getting back into work and offer them the right support to improve their lives. We have already helped 25 people affected by the lockdown and we’re here to help you!”
