THE driver of a BMW involved in a crash in which a woman was seriously injured has been arrested.

The 25-year-old man has been released under investigation following the crash, which happened in Yeadon in the early hours of Sunday morning.Officers were called to the scene at 3.10am, to reports of a single-vehicle collision. A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said it is understood the vehicle was driving down Kirk Lane, then onto New Road, then onto Dibb Lane where it was in collision with street furniture.

“The passenger in the BMW, a 26-year-old female was taken to hospital in a serious condition,” he said.

“The driver, a 25-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation. Police are appealing for witnesses and if anyone saw the BMW prior to the collision to come forward.”
