‘MAKING the most of the green recovery’ will be the subject of the annual conference of Action on Climate Emergency (ACE) Settle and area on November 14.
Held via zoom and open to all, the free conference will include speakers Sandy Tod, ACE member and director of Settle Hydro, and Alicia Turner, of ACE and also UK Youth Climate Action.
The line up will also include Cllr Edwina Hanniford, portfolio holder for climate change and neighbourhoods, Cornwall County Council, and Cllr Matthew Brown, leader on Preston City Council on community wealth building.
A spokesperson said: "Calls to ‘Build Back Better’ come in a year that has brought a global pandemic, extreme weather, forest fires destroying lives, homes and communities and more recently revelations by scientists that frozen methane deposits in the Arctic Ocean are being released off the East Siberian coast, increasing fears of new global warming."
The conference on November 14 will take place from 10.15am to 1pm.
There will be time for questions, answers and discussion. To book a place, go to: Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/making-the-most-of-the-green-recovery-zoom-conference-tickets-123066303627 or email: acesettleandarea@gmail.com
