A KEIGHLEY law firm has signed-up for a ninth year to a charity will-writing scheme.

John J Halliwell & Co is one of the area’s biggest fundraisers through the annual Will Aid initiative.

Since the company joined the scheme, it has coined-in £7,112 for good causes.

Now the public is being encouraged to support the venture, which since its launch just over three decades ago has raised more than £21 million.

As part of Will Aid, which runs throughout next month, solicitors drop their usual will-writing fees in lieu of a voluntary donation.

Suggested donations are £100 for a single will and £180 for a pair of ‘mirror’ wills.

All proceeds are split between nine charities – ActionAid, Age UK, the British Red Cross, Christian Aid, the NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF and Trocaire.

Louise Allister, for John J Halliwell & Co, said: “We are very excited to be involved in the Will Aid campaign again.

“It gives us an excellent opportunity to reach people in our community who do not have a will and help them to protect their loved ones for the future.

“It also means we can raise funds for nine incredible charities which make a huge difference to people in need both here in the UK and around the world.”
