THE planned opening of the Skipton branch of The Range home furnishings store has been delayed until next year.
Back in August, a spokesman for the company said it had been hoped to have the new venue up and running by the end of this year, however, circumstances have affected plans.
The chosen site is the former Ford dealership, on Airedale Industrial Estate.
They said: "Due to delays outside of our control (Covid-19) our store opening in Skipton will now be taking place in 2021.
"At present we do not have a confirmed launch date for this store due to the nature of the building work and preparation required to convert the old site into a new branch of The Range. As soon as we know the confirmed launch date of this store we will let you know."
The store hopes to employ the equivalent of 85 full-time positions when it is up and running fully.
Total gross new internal floor space is expected to be 4,770 square metres, including a cafe area covering 212 square metres.
The Range currently has 180 stores in the UK and Ireland and is the trading name of CDS (Superstores International) Ltd.
