EILEEN Warham, a resident of Mayfield View Care Home in Ilkley celebrated her 100th birthday with staff and fellow residents on Wednesday, September 23.
The occasion was marked with a champagne toast and karaoke. Beautiful bunches of flowers were delivered for Eileen, so many that she joked she could open her own florist’s shop.
Eileen said: “I’ve had a fantastic life so far and have been blessed with four wonderful sons. Obviously, I would have loved to be with them somewhere today, but circumstances wouldn’t allow and there is nowhere else I would rather have been than here. Everyone has been so kind and now I am tired out.”
Colne based Little Islands kindly loaned one of their popular ‘Jolley Trollies’ , a mobile interactive entertainment trolley.
Home manager Katie Capes said: “The residents have really loved the activities.”
