CONGRATULATIONS to Roger and Judith (nee Dunford) Charnley, of Long Meadows, Burley-in-Wharfedale, who celebrate their Diamond Wedding Anniversary today (Thursday, October 1).
Originally from Bradford, they were married at Ryan Street Methodist Church, West Bowling, on October 1st, 1960.
The couple have four grandchildren.
They say secrets of a long and happy marriage include being lucky enough to live in three nice places – Bradford, Lincoln and Burley-in-Wharfedale – as well as having a close and loving family living nearby.
“We’re best friends as well as husband and wife and share many interests,” added Roger, 85.
He and Judith, 83, have always been keen ramblers and still attempt a local walk most days.
