A NEW Leaders Forum has been set up to help Yorkshire deliver a clean energy future.

The Net Zero Leaders Forum is asking key figures from across government, business and the energy sector to be part of discussions to help shape plans to ensure the region can hit a net zero carbon emissions target by 2050 or before.

Leaders in their field and those with innovative ideas are particularly welcome, along with those aiming to pioneer a clean energy future.

The sessions have been launched by electricity distribution business Northern Powergrid as it looks to develop its business plan for 2023 and beyond in harmony with the area’s low carbon aspirations.

Four 2pm, online sessions are planned for Yorkshire including for North Yorkshire, on Friday, October 9 and for West Yorkshire on Tuesday, October 13.

Northern Powergrid’s head of stakeholder relations, Siobhan Barton, said: “From transport and housing to local government and economic regeneration we want to bring us together to help co-ordinate activities across the region.”
