A BEREAVEMENT support charity’s Yorkshire branch has received a financial boost from the Government.
Cruse Bereavement Care says the funding is helping it to provide additional support through its National Helpline to those who have suffered a loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The money has also allowed the group to:
*Increase the size of its Helpline team
*Reallocate staff and enrol locally-based Cruse Bereavement Volunteers
*Extend the opening hours of its Helpline
*And create a new webchat service
The charity says that locally and nationally it has seen a marked increase in the need for its services, and the number of calls and e-mails it is handling, since the pandemic began.
Its Yorkshire and Humber branch helps people who have suffered a bereavement across the county including in Wharfedale, Aireborough and North Yorkshire.
