BRADFORD Festival Choral Society’s first online concert in 164 years attracted over 600 viewers and rave reviews. The concert - launching the choir’s 2020-21 season - premiered on the BFCS YouYube channel on September 5, attracting viewers from across the UK and beyond. Four new recordings were made by choir members individually at home during lockdown, with these tracks mixed to recreate the sound of the choir performing together, with additional archive material unearthed for the concert. Rob Voakes, chairman of BFCS, said: “We were overwhelmed by the number of ‘hits’ we received. For a choir’s first online concert of modern choral classics this is a great success. It’s reached a larger and wider audience than our physical concerts do, and shows that lock-down hasn’t reduced the demand for excellent choral music.” The concert can be viewed for free on https://www.youtube.com/bradfordfestivalchoralsociety
