ILKLEY Youth and Community Association has announced the winners of its #Ilkleytogether competition that ran during the first phase of lockdown.

The charity used donations and funds provided by Bradford Council to provide over 200 books and packs of chalk for local children.

Entrants were asked to showcase their creative side by submitting chalk drawings with prizes provided by local businesses Clip N’ Climb Ilkley, ethical loungewear company Woodstock Laundry, and Sturman & Co.

With lots of fantastic entries, including incredible socially distanced whole street entries, it was a tough job to pick the winning three entries. The winners’ ages range from five to 11.

Speaking about the competition, one of the IYCA trustees Kyle Green said: “Lockdown provided a huge challenge to many families and left many people feeling isolated.

“The fantastic chalk drawings that lit up and created joy on streets around Ilkley because of this competition were fantastic.

“Ilkley Youth and Community Association is determined to help residents bounce back from the challenges of lockdown and we are excited to continue to deliver projects and opportunities for the Ilkley community.”
