DOE Park Water Activities Centre at Denholme is offering family fun.

Sessions on and off the water are being staged this month.

People can enjoy archery, and canoe rafting and ‘sit on top’ kayaking, at the council-run centre.

To comply with Covid-19 restrictions, the activities are open to up to five people from the same household bubble.

At least one adult must attend and participate in the 90-minute sessions.

A spokesman said: “On the water, instructors will demonstrate canoeing basics whilst socially distancing and get you afloat. As changing rooms are not currently available, you will need to come dressed for the activity – as it is possible that you may get wet!

“Archery instructors, whilst socially distancing, will also demonstrate the basics and give you techniques to improve your aim. You will be able to find out who is the Robin Hood in your household with some friendly competitions.”

Sessions take place until August 28.
