CASH help is being made available to workers in the district struggling due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
A Covid Loan & Save Account has been launched by Bradford Council, in partnership with Bradford and District Credit Union.
Workers who are on furlough, part of the self-employment income support scheme or have lost their job due to the pandemic can apply for a £500 payment.
The payment comprises a £50 grant and an interest-free loan of £450.
There is no credit search and the loan is paid back when either in work again or receiving benefits.
Council leader, Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, said: “We know that people are struggling so we are happy to support this scheme, which will provide a short-term grant and bridging loan to help financially-squeezed residents.”
Apply at bdcu.co.uk under the loans tab, email credit.union@bdcu.co.uk or call 01274 434100.
