ILKLEY’S Clarke Foley Centre is to launch a socially distanced cafe next week.

The centre is able to start the new initiative after reaching its fundraising total of almost £20,000 - helped by a donation from the Ilkley New Horizons Orchestra.

The members of the Ilkley New Horizons Orchestra, which is one of the largest and longest standing groups who regularly use the Clarke Foley Centre, stepped forward to support the charity’s appeal.

Last week David Pickup, vice-chairman of the orchestra, presented a cheque to the centre’s new business manager Michele Ince .

The latest donation means the socially distanced cafe can now open on August 5.

Further details about how the café will work can be found at www.clarkefoley.org.uk. Amateur classical musicians interested in joining the Ilkley New Horizons Orchestra can find more information on their website: http://ilkleynewhorizonsorchestra.weebly.com. Or contact inhosecretary@gmail.com.
