A WHARFEDALE MP is assuring residents that he will remain available for constituents in need during the coming weeks.
Parliament’s summer recess has now begun which would usually mean that most politicians would be heading off on their holidays or enjoying time out in their constituencies.
MP Alex Sobel (Lab, Leeds North West), however, says he will be doing things differently this time in light of a year that has been blighted by the coronavirus.
He said: “It is now Parliamentary recess, a time that would usually be spent touring the summer constituency events and meeting lots of different people. Sadly, due to COVID-19, this summer will be different. Meetings will continue online and I will be embarking on visits in my role as Shadow Tourism Minister where I can and where it is appropriate. I will still be here for my constituents when they need me and my office will remain reachable.
“The last few months have been especially difficult for everyone and I would like to thank everybody for the sacrifices they have made.” Mr Sobel can be contacted by sending an e-mail to alex@alexsobel.co.uk or calling (0113) 898 0969.
