PARENTS in Cumbria who have welcomed a 'lockdown baby' into the family during the coronavirus pandemic can now receive a special certificate from the local health trust.

A spokesperson from the University of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, said: "If you have had a baby during lockdown, we understand that these first few weeks and months with your little one/s have probably been completely different to what you had planned.

"All the firsts - the first nappy change, the first clothes, the first bath, etc - might not have been shared due to restrictions on visiting and for those babies that had to stay with us a little longer, their first views of their parents and our teams was of their eyes peering over the top of a blue mask.

"Even though the recent relaxation of the rules means that you can now see your friends and family, it still isn’t the ‘normal’ start to life we expect for our kids.

"We think you and your little ones are doing an amazing job and that is why we have had a certificate of appreciation created for our lockdown babies!"

The certificate is sized to fit inside of your child's red record book with all the other important memories and milestones.

If you had your baby at one of our hospitals or in our community during lockdown and would like a lockdown baby certificate, email: communications.team@mbht.nhs.uk with the name of the little one.
