Pat Carr said: "Why didn’t you just use your common sense and wear one. Do you have to wait for the government to tell you everything?"

Dave Baker said: "Masks in shops but open the pubs and beaches with no masks. You're closer to someone in a pub than in any supermarket."

Dave Ryan said: "Wearing a mask in the supermarket means that you're less likely to go spreading it round to people after you've caught it in the pub."

Alex Rayment said: "Over 60,000 people have died in the United Kingdom. The worst death toll in Europe. Over 95 per cent of the population have not had covid-19 yet and are vulnerable to infection with immunity in survivors being unproven. We have no idea of the long term health impact for survivors... I think wearing a bit of fabric over our mouths and nose is a small price to pay to help get virus transmission lower alongside social distancing. Ps. Christine Johnson said: "So why wasn't it done sooner, it could have saved lives by stemming the spread."

Derek Clarke said: "They are doing them with a little hole so you can go to the Pub and drink through a Straw."

Andy Dufrane said: "Yep that's right.. A bit of cloth will keep us all safe.. A bit like trying to stop mosquitos by erecting a chicken wired cage. Do you not find it bizarre that we will have to wear one to shop, but not working in an office or a pub or school?... Money wins again and that's why it's compulsory.."
