‘A LIFELINE for people across Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough’.
That is how MP Stuart Andrew (Con, Pudsey) has hailed the Government’s Plan for Jobs - a £30 billion package designed to prevent mass unemployment. It will include the payment of a one-off bonus of £1,000 to employers for every employee who has been furloughed and is kept on until January.
The plan also includes a temporary cut in VAT for tourism and hospitality; an Eat Out to Help Out Scheme; the temporary removal of stamp duty on homes under £500,000; and a Kickstart scheme to create hundreds of thousands of jobs for young people
Mr Andrew said: “Our plan will be a lifeline for countless people and businesses across Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough.”
