TWO local hospices are offering support to anybody who has lost a loved one to COVID-19.

Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice and St Gemma’s Hospice are running telephone support lines, staffed by trained bereavement workers, during the pandemic.

The lines are for anyone in the Leeds area who has a family member or friend who has died during the lockdown or is critically ill.

Both are open from 9am to 4pm, Moday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).

The St Gemma’s number is (0113) 218 5544 while the Wheatfields line is (0113) 203 3369. Announcing the initiative on www.st-gemma.co.uk, St Gemma’s said: “We have launched a COVID-19 support line, in collaboration with Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice, available to anyone in Leeds with family members or friends who are critically ill, or who have died from any illness during the COVID-19 period.”
