ILKLEY Manor House’s virtual programme of online activities called Ilkley Manor House at Home has joined forces with the Ilkley Playhouse for some of its spoken content.

“Finding new ways of working has been one of the bright moments in the lockdown,” said Sarah Thomas, Chair of the Ilkley Manor House Trust. “We have planned to hold a joint event with the Playhouse in the courtyard at the end of August called ‘Bard in the Yard’ but we are still not certain if this is will go ahead in the quite the way we had both planned. We are however keen to find a way of working together in the meantime and using the skills of the Playhouse actors seemed a great partnership.”

“A number of our actors will hopefully provide some input for the Storytime or Words section of the programme,” said Justine Sowden, Theatre Manager, Ilkley Playhouse. “We hope that this will be an opportunity to further develop our relationship with the Manor House and provide another opportunity to reach out to our loyal audience and members.”

The first Playhouse snippet will be available on Ilkley Manor House and Ilkley Playhouse Facebook pages in May.
