THREE more patients have died at Airedale Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus.

The deaths reported by NHS England, two on April 26 and one yesterday, bring the total at the hospital to 76.

The country has suffered an increase in fatalities after seeing numbers drop significantly over the previous two days.

Bradford Royal Infirmary reported a further five deaths meaning the total number for the Bradford district now stands at 198.

A statement from the NHS today read: "A further 552 people, who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 19,301.

"Patients were aged between 31 and 99 years old and 38 of the 552 patients (aged between 36 and 99 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

"Their families have been informed."

Nationally, 639 more deaths have been reported pushing the official death toll to 21,731.
