THE Friends of Ilkley Moor have had to curtail their activities given the onset of the coronavirus and the Governments’ restrictions on social gatherings.

Their AGM, which was planned for 7.30pm on Friday 24 April at the Clarke Foley Centre is cancelled and will be rearranged when circumstances permit. Hopefully in the early Autumn.

Their extensive set of activities and walks on the Moor are likewise in abeyance. They will be contacting members and publicising which activities can go ahead and which have been rescheduled once it is clear that these activities can recommence.

Likewise, their weekly and monthly work parties are also suspended. These, in conjunction with Bradford Countryside Service, undertake a lot of good work to maintain Ilkley Moor and access to it.

Owen Wells, the FOIM Chairman, said: “Whilst the curtailment of our activities is very frustrating it is important that we look after the interests and health of our members and those who wish to use the Moor first and foremost. We will have a lot of work to do when to can recommence our activities on the Moor.”
