ACADEMICS at Leeds Trinity University have co-edited an anthology of original poetry to celebrate the 2019 bicentenary of the birth of English novelist George Eliot.
Dr Amina Alyal and Edwin Stockdale have co-edited An Insubstantial Universe, a collection of original poems written by members of the Leeds Trinity community, the Leeds Centre for Victorian Studies and others.
An Insubstantial Universe is the first collaboration between Creative Writing and Victorian Studies at Leeds Trinity University.
Dr Alyal, who is Senior Lecturer in English, said: “Working on this anthology with Edwin Stockdale, whose brainchild it is, has been a privilege and a joy. It has been really inspiring to read so many excellent poems and varied takes on George Eliot written by such a collection of talented poets.”
The book is published by independent publisher Yaffle Press
