RHYL Royal British Legion is leading the way once again, with a new plan to engage children.
Pupils at Ysgol Tir Morfa, Ysgol Emmanuel Christ the Word Catholic School and Christchurch County Primary are in with a chance to win a family ticket to SC2 or Vue Rhyl by naming the branch's new mascot.
The brainchild of prolific fundraiser Richard Kendrick, the mascot is a man sized teddy bear currently dressed in a Second World War RAF Sergeant's uniform. The winning name will be picked out of a hat by Rhyl mayor cllr Ellie Chard in June.
Competition organiser Richard Kendrick said: "I wanted something could take with me to RBL events that children would like, so we can chat to them, tell them what we do and what being a veteran means. I'm hoping other branches follow this idea.
"Any child in school that hasn't taken part can email a name to met via kendrick7396@gmail.com.
