WITH an outstanding ensemble cast and a rocking band to match, the St. Mary’s, Menston 2020 production of Grease was a first class night at the theatre.

From the opening rift of the overture right until the final bow, audiences were utterly enthralled, drawn into the world of ‘Pink Ladies’ and ‘Burger Palace Boys’. They could be seen singing along and joining with iconic dance moves.

Notably, the most experienced performers, Ellie Barraclough, Gabriel Jones, Louisa Morris, William Sammon and Sam Speed stood out.

Each of them showing an incredible amount of talent for such young performers. Each of them would be at home on any professional stage.

Sam Clifford-Hassan also deserves special mention, skilfully leading the musicians and the cast through the show as the band leader and conductor.

Miss Claire Andrews, Creative Faculty Leader and Production Director said: “However talented the lead performers were, this was an ensemble show and audience members were struck by the passion and joy of the performers throughout the production, which is an impressive feat given the age span of the ensemble, ranging from 11 to 18 years old.”
