INEVITABLY, with the recent weather, there are several re-scheduled rugby union league matches tomorrow in what was originally a league-free Saturday.

Old Grovians, for example, are at Wath Upon Dearne in Yorkshire Division Two.

Wath are sixth and Grovians seventh, but the visitors' coach Andy Hinchliffe has admitted that he will just be glad to get a team out.

He explained: "We have about 14 forwards available but few backs, who are either ski-ing or going to the Six Nations.

"I call this a reserve week, the players call it a free week and I will be happy to get away without a minus five points concession."

In Yorkshire Division Three, seventh-placed Wibsey are due to be at home to Ossett, who are eighth.

Bradford Council have called off matches on their pitches due to waterlogging, so Wibsey chairman Steve Brooke said: "Beldon Lane is not an option, but because we maintain Northfield Road it will be a matter of trying to get that fit."

Third-placed Baildon, boosted by Knottingley's 29-5 defeat at Sheffield Medicals last week, will displace the former in second if they notch a bonus-point win at home to 12th-placed Rotherham Phoenix, who lost 22-7 at next-to-bottom Skipton on Saturday.
