VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help at a popular local garden.

York Gate, at Adel, is a highly respected site that crams 14 different gardens into its one acre plot.

Councillor Barry Anderson (Con, Adel & Wharfedale) was recently given a tour of the gardens and shown how its new features, which have been worked on over the past few months, were taking shape.

Impressed with what he saw, Cllr Anderson is encouraging local residents who have a few hours to spare each week to join the volunteering team at York Gate.

Anyone interested can find out more at Open Day sessions that are being held at the garden at 11am and at noon on Wednesday, March 11.

Volunteer roles are availalbe in the cafe, shop, plant sales and admissions.
