A MAJOR event is heading to a Gwynedd venue later this month.

Galeri Caernarfon will shortly play host to the Wales YFC entertainment feast.

Young People aged between 10 and 26 years with their varying talents will represent their clubs and entertain audiences during the entertainment feast weekend.

This will run between February 29 and March 1.

The event gives members the opportunity to perform on a professional stage with fantastic facilities and technical equipment, plus the support of professional tech teams.

During a recent Wales YFC competitions sub-committee meeting, the draw was made with eight county Federations showing an interest to compete in the Welsh language competition and seven interested in competing in English.

For the Welsh language performances on Saturday, February 29, the first session at 11am will include Eryri, Ynys Môn, Meirionnydd and Clwyd.

The second session following an interval - starting at 6pm - will include Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, Montgomery and Carmarthenshire.

The feast will then continue on Sunday, March 1 and the celebration of St David's Day will witness seven English language dramas competing for the title of champions of Wales and the opportunity to represent the country in the NYFYFC finals to become the best in Wales and England.

The first session will start at 11am with Radnor, Montgomery, Pembrokeshire and Brecknock performing.

Following the interval, the second session of the day will conclude the feast of entertainment for 2020, starting at 6pm with Carmarthenshire, Gwent and Glamorgan competing.

The adjudicator in the Welsh section will be Ffion Dafis.

She is a recognisable face in Welsh media as an actress and TV and radio presenter.

Originally from Bangor, she became well known as a presenter in the 90s on TV show i-dot.

Later, she made a name for herself as an actress and TV and radio presenter.

She has also taken to the stage in many productions.

For the English section, the judge will be Joe Riley, from Merseyside.

Mr Riley is a recognised judge with GoDA and he has adjudicated in numerous festivals across the UK.

He is well at home in the world of drama and is looking forward to enjoying the members’ offerings this year.

Tickets are available from www.galericaernarfon.com/eng/whats-on-selected.php?show-id=873617992 or via the box office on 01286 685222.

Also during the weekend, Wales YFC will be holding the annual junior and senior members of the year competitions.

Result of the prestigious award, sponsored by JCP solicitors, will be announced from the stage.
