A “RAINBOW of fun” is being promised in a 5k colour run at Harewood House in September.

With a theme of Make Magic, The Color Run organisers say they are looking for dreamers and believers to share the fun with family, friends and colleagues.

The event will be staged at Harewood House on Saturday, September 26. It starts at 11am, but entrants are encouraged to get there early and enjoy the warm-ups and pre-event parties.

Billed as “the happiest 5K on the planet” the run is inspired by events including Disney’s World of Color, colour parties, mud runs, and festivals throughout the world such as the Hindu festival of Holi.

Participants are promised a “colour explosion” at every kilometre - followed by a huge colour throwing party at the finish line complete with dancing and music.

Registration for this year’s event is now open with discounted prices for those who sign up now. For groups of ten or more prices start from £18, for groups of four to nine £20, and individual entries are from £23. Visit https://thecolorrun.co.uk/ to sign up.

Alan Brown, race director for The Color Run UK said: “The Color Run has enormous appeal - more than seven million people across 50 countries have experienced this incredible event - and we can’t wait to bring The Color Run to Leeds for the first time. It’s not about the time or the distance it’s about clocking up smiles and having the most amazing time.”

He added: “ Everyone has a huge grin on their face at the finish line, which is where the fun really gets going.”

He said the event had a real party atmosphere from start to finish.
