A LARGE fallen tree has become stuck at Otley Bridge.
The tree, which was swept downstream in the River Wharfe recently, spans the entire middle arch of the bridge.
Resident John Morgan, who believes it has been there for at least a week, captured this photograph of the tree on Sunday, January 19.
On previous, similar occasions the River Stewardship Company has been called in to remove trees and other debris from the River Wharfe at Otley.
The company has recently been helping to run volunteer riverside clearance days in the town - involving litter picking plus vegetation and tree management - working in partnership with the Environment Agency and Leeds City Council.
Vegetation and trees on the islands downstream of Otley Weir are set to be cut back as part of a major flood defence scheme which will see a long embankment built on land beside Billams Hill.
