A pantomime school performed by staff at Chigwell School raised over £2,000 for two charities.

The Biennial Staff panto conducted their version of Jack and the Beanstalk, containing slapstick comedy, audience participation and in-jokes that was well received.

Sixth Form drama scholars Immy Peck, Rosie Singha and Emma Jones undertook the role of director, managing the twenty or so members involved.

Tickets sold from the hit show raised money donated to Haven House and Smiles with Grace.

Deputy headteacher David Gower who played the villain, said: “It was amazing to see what could be achieved in such a short rehearsal period and was delighted with the amount of money raised.”
