A WOMAN has died after being struck by a train in Burley-in-Wharfedale.
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon and had a major impact on train services.
A spokesperson for train operator Northern said the person was hit at Duck Lane crossing.
Trains were suspended between Ilkley and Leeds and Ilkley and Bradford and rail replacement buses were in operation.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: "British Transport Police were called at 12.40pm on December 21 to an area of railway in Burley-in-Wharfedale following a report of a casualty on the tracks. Sadly, a woman aged in her 30s died at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
