THE SCHOOLS History Project has appointed a new Director to oversee the organisation’s role in transforming history education and developing the school curriculum in the UK.
Matthew Stanford has been appointed by the project, which is based at Leeds Trinity University. He is currently the Head of History of Cottenham Village College, Cambridge.
The SHP plays an important role in national curriculum development and provides professional development for teachers.
Mr Standford said: “I am delighted and humbled to have been given the responsibility of leading one of the most important organisations in history education in the UK. I look forward to working closely with the Fellows and our partners to continue the Schools History Project’s work in supporting an excellent GCSE syllabus and providing the very best professional development in history education.”
