MANORLANDS fundraising is on the slide – and the hospice is delighted!

A new zip wire event is being staged to coin-in cash for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

It follows the success of a similar event earlier this year, at Sutton Pinnacle, which raised £50,000.

Next year’s challenge will see daredevils slide 270 metres – at speeds of up to 40mph – from the top of the ‘cow’, at the Cow & Calf Rocks above Ilkley.

People can now sign-up for the July 26 event, at sueryder.org/zipthecow.

Event sponsors are also being sought.

Karen Jones, for the Manorlands fundraising team, said: “After the huge success of the previous event we’re delighted to announce the new zip wire challenge. Our partners for the event are Bradford Council and the Cow and Calf pub and restaurant, but as yet we’ve not secured event sponsors, which will have their company name featured on all publicity materials.”
