FUNDRAISING by the Rotary Club of Ilkley Wharfedale has enabled it to support LS29, the Mayor’s Charity for 2019/2020. A cheque was handed over to Karen Goodman of LS29. She said:”The LS29 Group is a local charity for families who have children with special needs. We were formed almost 14 years ago and now have over 120 families as members. We run inclusive activities for all the family to try new things and develop confidence and friendships, in a nutshell things that they would not normally be able to do. This donation will be used for a farm trip and party next year. We can only survive from the kind donations and support from our sponsors and we very much appreciate this donation from Rotary. Some of our recent events include: inflatable swim sessions; go-karting parties; visits to a Donkey Sanctuary; Snow-zone Sledging Trip; trips to theme parks.”

Ilkley Mayor Mark Stidworthy said: “I’m delighted to support LS29 as my charity this year, and hope this brings a little extra attention and financial support for this fantastic local group that does so much to promote inclusion and fun in the communities of Ilkley and Wharfedale.”
