A WHARFEDALE village’s Christmas lights display has been given extra sparkle thanks to a funding boost.
The Outer North West Community Committee has made a grant of £1,500 towards the hiring of six Christmas motifs for Pool-in-Wharfedale’s display. The total cost was £2,335, with Pool Parish Council funding the balance.
Councillor Barry Anderson (Con, Adel & Wharfedale) said: “I am delighted we have again been able to give money towards the Pool Christmas lights. This annual display gets better each year and it is such a pleasure to see as you come into the village.”
Councillor Caroline Anderson (Con, Adel & Wharfedale) added: “Although Pool is a small village it punches above its weight with its Christmas display. The Parish Council works so hard to show the village to its maximum potential this is a great way of doing it.”
