NOMINATIONS are being invited by Ilkley Civic Society for its annual competition which promote good design and conservation of buildings and spaces in the town.

The competition is divided into three sections: design - for new buildings or extensions; conservation - for works to historic buildings; and improvements - for smaller projects or environmental improvements.

To qualify works on a project need to be substantially complete at December 31.

In each section there are awards for exemplars and commendations for other projects that have still made a positive contribution to the town.

Should a project be successful, the applicant and architect/builder would be invited to the presentation of certificates held in March 2020 at Church House in Ilkley.

David Blackburn, executive committee member of the society, said: “Should you be interested in us judging the exterior of any property please contact me (01943) 603479 by phone. Any member of the public or group, owners of property or the architect/developer is allowed to nominate works for consideration by the society. We look forward to receiving your nominations.”
