VICTORIAN carol singers will help Otley take a step back in time this weekend.

The town is holding its 34th Victorian Fayre on Sunday, December 1 when many stallholders, shopkeepers and visitors will don period costume for the occasion.

Attractions will include a roving Father Christmas, fairground rides, street organs plus a variety of seasonal food and refreshments. The town centre, pedestrianised for the duration of the event between noon and 6pm, will also be bustling with market stalls and live music.

Steph Lee, from organisers Otley Town Partnership, said: “Everything is within easy walking distance and for lovers of traditional Christmas music there will be Victorian carol singers wandering around and local schools singing on the stage in the Market Place, while Kirkgate Arcade will be home to Otley Brass Band and a string quartet. With a wonderfully festive atmosphere this is a glorious experience and not to be missed.”
