AIREDALE International Air Conditioning has been named Manufacturer of the Year at a prestigious awards ceremony.

The Rawdon-based company carried off the title at this year’s CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) Yorkshire Awards.

The event, which was held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, celebrated the best in mechanical and engineering building services in the Yorkshire region.

Accolades went to different people and projects who had delivered exceptional work. The awards recognise the passion, pride and progress of individuals and organisations and provide a platform for key industry players to celebrate their business successes and congratulate their teams.

Darren Farrar, Marketing Manager for Airedale International said CIBSE Yorkshire worked with many other accomplished engineering firms in the region.

He added: “We are very proud to receive this recognition in our field.”

The award specifically celebrates the launch of AireWall, Airedale’s precision computer room air handling unit, developed for use in the data centre market. AireWall flexes output to match demand, using the latest fan and coil technologies to maximise free cooling and operating efficiencies.

Mr Farrar said: “There is so much happening at Airedale at the moment. This year alone we have seen the launch of AireWall, the introduction of European Data Centre Sales Team and the launch of Azure R32 range. And it doesn’t stop there, with our continual investment into research and development there is much more to come.”

The company was founded in Leeds in 1974 and now operates globally, with offices in three continents and customers in more than 60 countries.

It bounced back from a major setback in 2013 when its Rawdon site was gutted by fire. The headquarters was rebuilt from scratch and was re-opened by Princess Anne in 2016.The new building features a state-of-the-art research and development centre, which is one of the biggest in Europe.
