REAL ale lovers will be assembling at Otley this weekend for the town’s 19th Beer Festival.

More than 60 ales will be available at the event which runs at Otley Rugby Club from noon to 11pm on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23.

Seven keg beers plus a selection of cider and perry will also be on offer, along with soft drinks.

Organisers Otley RATS (Real Ale Tasting Society) have raised more than £98,500 for local charities and Otley Parish Church since 2002.

This year proceeds from the festival will be used to help three good causes - the Motor Neurone Disease Association, Martin House Children’s Hospice and Otley Parish Scouts’ hut roof repair fund.

Entrance tickets cost £10 which includes a programme, commemorative glass and £6 worth of beer tokens.

Among the intriguingly named beers that will feature this time are Beans on Toast from Nomadic; Lost in Ikea by Nightjar; Flumoxed Farmer by Ainsty; and Venus and Mars - a ‘hoppy pale ale’ from Black Sheep Brewery. For more details visit www.otleybeerfestival.co.uk.
