AMNESTY greeting cards will be sent to prisoners of conscience around the world by volunteers in Rawdon.

The public are invited to take part in the Amnesty Greeting Card Campaign at Rawdon Quaker Meeting House from 12.30 to 3.30pm on Sunday, November 24.

Spokeswoman Barbara Parry said: “We provide cards, information and refreshments, and you can drop in and write as many cards as you like, to send messages of support to those who need it most. There is no charge, but we would appreciate a donation to help cover the postage.”

At 7.30pm there will be a concert of light classical and chamber music from Ristretto, six musicians from Opera North.

Barbara said: “If you have enjoyed their performances in the formal surroundings of the Leeds Grand Theatre, don’t miss this opportunity to be entertained at close quarters in the intimate and informal setting of the Quaker Meeting House in Rawdon.”
