THE driver of a hatchback had to be cut free from his car in Apperley Bridge last night after his vehicle was in collision with a HGV.

The motorist in his late teens suffered minor injuries in the road traffic collision at about 10pm on Harrogate Road near Woodhouse Grove School.

Firefighters from Rawdon and Shipley fire station attended the incident and needed to perform a side removal because of the driver's position.

He was freed after crews took the side of the car off.
