BUDDING young builders were given given a fun ‘taster’ into the world of work thanks to housing group Incommunities.
The six youngsters, aged eight to 13, joined their parents and other relatives to have a go at some basic building skills.
The half-term event was hosted by staff at Incommunities’ Construction Training Centre as part of celebrations for International Men’s Day and International Children’s Day..
Nine-year-old Harry from Cowling came along with his dad Roger Garnett, a joiner with the group’s Building Services, and made and decorated two tables. One had a draughts design on top and the other a clock for the football team he plays for, Sutton Juniors.
Harry said: “It’s been great learning different building skills and spending time with my dad at his work.”
Construction trainer and joiner Jamie Logan was joined by his son Angus, nine, from Eastburn who said taking part had made him think even more about being a designer.
