AN ELECTRIC car charging point has been installed in Yeadon as part of a Leeds-wide initiative.
The new equipment, which is positioned outside the town’s library, has been welcomed by the three ward councillors Colin Campbell, Ryk Downes and Sandy Lay.
“As electric cars become more common it is important that we provide the infrastructure to keep them running”, Cllr Campbell said.
Cllr Downes added: “Given the climate emergency we are all facing it is important we all do our bit to help the planet. I know some people are reluctant to buy electric cars because they are concerned about being able to recharge them. Electric charging points throughout the town will give residents confidence to make the investment.”
There is currently a programme to roll out electric charging points across Leeds.
