AN OTLEY runner who has raised thousands for charity has completed his latest overseas race.
Danny Cooney finished the Munich Marathon on Sunday, October 13.
The challenge was part of his latest fundraising push - this time to raise money for local charities who help people with dementia.
Proceeds from the run will go towards a total that is to be shared between a number of causes that help people with dementia - including Singing for the Brain and Otley Action for Older People, in Otley, and the Glen Rosa Care Home activities fund in Ilkley.
The fundraising team that has backed Danny’s efforts over the years by organising social events, meanwhile, is also raising money for The Friends of St Joseph’s School. Members held a coffee morning at Clitherow House, Otley on Sunday, October 20 which raised £224 for the Friends group.
Danny’s next run will be a marathon in Malaga, Spain on Sunday, December 15.
A Spanish themed ‘Christmas Morning’ fundraiser will then be held at Clitherow House a week later, on Sunday, December 22.
