ARTISTS Lucia Smith, Kerry J Stoker and Joanne Tinker are hosting an exhibition with a difference this November in Ilkley.
The three Ilkley-based artists have been clearing out their home studios, making space and dusting down older pieces for this unusual show, offering a unique chance to buy beautiful art at fantastic cut down prices.
From vibrant Yorkshire landscapes painted in soft pastel by Lucia, to intense and colourful abstract paintings by Kerry, to wonderful pieces created from recycled objects by Joanne. Kerry said: “We’ve been making space ourselves and hope to inspire others to do the same – the space to come and look, to enjoy some contemplative art time, and maybe tempt you to find space in your own home for something new.” “Having a clear out is refreshing and re-energising,” said Lucia. “We realise how proud we are of our past work, and the wonderful variety it will offer in the show.” “It’s great to give our older work such focus,” added Joanne. “Even if showing it alongside some brand new, not seen before pieces is rather nerve-racking!”
The artists will be on hand throughout the exhibition. Everyone is welcome. ‘Making Space’ is on from: Wednesday, November 6 to Sunday, November 10 at Ilkley Arts Studio, Cottage 4, Manor House Courtyard, Ilkley, LS29 8DT, 10am – 4pm daily.
