BURLEY-in-Wharfedale and District Probus Club presents a charity concert in aid of children’s cancer charity Candlelighters on Saturday, October 19 at 7pm in St Mary’s Church, Burley-in-Wharfedale.

The concert will feature Wharfedale Male Voice Choir with conductor Paul Hurst and MC Ken Bellwood. The choir plans to sing about a dozen songs including ones from the old shows and favourites like My Love is like a Red, Red Rose and Bring him Home.

The evening will also feature selected readings by Charles Prest. Charles lives in Burley and is a member of St Mary’s. He will be reading during both halves of the evening a story called ‘Why there are no longer penguins in the northern hemisphere’.

All proceeds are for Candlelighters, a Leeds based charity which supports the families of children with cancer.
