THOUSANDS of pounds is being made available to community groups as part of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Safer Communities Fund.
Mark Burns-Williamson has £140,000 to giveaway to projects focussed on road safety, burglary, “honour” based abuse, cyber crime, human trafficking and modern slavery and missing people.
Mr Burns-Williamson said: "While this latest round is open to applications covering any of the priorities in my Police and Crime Plan, I am particularly looking for projects with a focus around road safety, burglary, "honour" based abuse, cyber crime, human trafficking and modern slavery or missing people. Analysis of the Fund has shown that we have had slightly fewer applications in these areas and that is something I'd like to redress.
"These grants provide excellent value for money and can be crucial in allowing grass roots community projects to deliver invaluable services locally."
To apply go to https://www.westyorkshire-pcc.gov.uk/safer-communities-fund/how-to-apply.aspx before noon on Friday, November 15.
