MP for Keighley and Ilkley John Grogan gave a talk to the weekly lunch meeting of Ilkley Rotary Club and presented a light-hearted view of life as an MP . He explained the selection processes, the role of the whips office, the regular travelling between Parliament and the constituency and having to attend key debates and discussions, especially when the voting is likely to be tight.
One of his interests is cricket and he has been keen to promote ‘free to air’ TV for all.
The vote of thanks was given by David Shaw who said the club was very grateful that John was still able to keep to his agreed date booked months ago despite the recent unexpected goings on in Parliament.
John was thanked very much for his continued community non-political support across the whole of the Ilkley area which is much appreciated by all concerned.
