‘A MAJOR help for our training’.
That is how St John Ambulance volunteers have described the new resuscitation model they have received from Sainsbury’s Otley.
The model - a Practi-man Advance - will allow the local St John Ambulance team to train people in CPR techniques for both adults and children. It was purchased with money raised at the Sainsbury’s store.
Linda Mahoney and Jackie Gowing were presented with the equipment at the supermarket on Friday, September 20.
Linda, the St John Ambulance Unit Manager at Otley, said: “This is brilliant and just what we needed - our other resuscitation models are getting a bit old and tatty. It will be a major help for us with training.
“Sainsbury’s have been good to us and we’re very grateful.”
The supermarket chain has been a regular supporter of St John Ambulance since its Otley store opened in 2008. Creating the new store involved removing the charity’s old wooden base so Sainsbury’s built a new St John Ambulance Hall, on Gay Lane.
